Urban Green Space Analysis

Project Overview

This project analyzes urban green spaces and residential areas using GIS data. It processes shapefiles to extract information about parks, natural areas, and residential zones, then generates a visual representation of their distribution within a city.

Features

  • Extracts green spaces (parks and natural areas) from landuse and natural shapefiles
  • Identifies residential areas from landuse shapefiles
  • Calculates the area of green spaces in hectares
  • Generates a map showing the distribution of green spaces and residential areas
  • Exports results as both PNG and PDF files

Requirements

  • Python 3.x
