Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research is a public German marine research institute. Many undergraduate and graduate students are working here on their study courses or theses. Courses are offered in collaboration with other public universities (i.e. University of Rostock, University of Greifswald). Connections to software engineering exist in many fields that are worked on at IOW, e.g. environmental modelling, data analysis, bioinformatics, climate studies, hydrodynamics...
